Victoria School representative attends UNESCO capacity-building workshop in Bangkok

The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Office organised a workshop on a Whole-School Approach to Global Citizenship Education, held from October 28 to November 1, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. 

 

The workshop welcomed 54 delegates from four countries—Bhutan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam as well as nearly 20 experienced speakers and experts from around the world. Victoria School was honored to have two of the 16 Vietnamese representatives at the event.

This activity is under the project "Promoting Global Citizenship Education in the Asia-Pacific Region through a Whole-School Approach", with financial support from the Government of the Republic of Korea.

 

The workshop provided valuable knowledge, practical guidelines, and systematic strategies, along with specific methods for implementing global citizenship education using a whole-school approach. Key areas included School Leadership and Governance, Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment, Student Initiatives, Community Engagement, and Staff Capacity Building.

54 delegates attended the UNESCO Conference.

This event also offered delegates the opportunity to exchange lessons learned, foster collaboration, and develop action plans to integrate global citizenship education within their institutions.

 

Ms. Vo Truc Quynh, Director of Research and Development at Victoria School, shared, “I was impressed by the presentations showcasing successful practices from schools around the world. These practical experiences broadened my perspective and inspired me to seek innovative solutions for implementing global citizenship education programs.”

 

The school leaders and teachers are expected to implement their action plans and share the knowledge and skills gained from the workshop with their colleagues, drawing on the knowledge and practical insights exchanged throughout the workshop.
