Job Overview:

The Academic Supervisor is responsible for developing, improving, and ensuring the quality of the English program across the entire school system, covering both the main school program and after-school/academic support classes. The role focuses on designing comprehensive Pacing Guides, developing teaching and learning materials, creating learning activities, supporting teachers, and coordinating the implementation of system-wide academic projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

A. Curriculum Development & Pacing Guide Design

  • Develop structured and cohesive Pacing Guides across grade levels (from Pre-Primary to Lower Secondary).
  • Build, revise, and update the English curriculum in alignment with international frameworks (Cambridge YLE/CEFR).
  • Design unit plans, weekly lesson outlines, learning objectives, and skill progression pathways.
  • Create thematic projects, integrated lessons, and experiential learning activities.

B. Teaching Materials & Learning Activity Development

  • Develop worksheets, teaching slides, practice exercises, homework packages, and classroom resources.
  • Create supporting materials for special programs (e.g., exam prep classes, English clubs, holiday programs).
  • Adapt materials to meet different student proficiency levels and learning needs.
C.  Assessment & Evaluation
  • Design formative and summative assessments (quizzes, midterm & final tests, speaking tests).
  • Build marking guides, rubrics, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Monitor test quality, item validity, and score consistency across campuses.
  • Analyze student results to identify learning gaps and propose improvement strategies.

D. Teacher Support & Training

  • Conduct teacher observations and provide academic feedback.
  • Support teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies.
  • Organize training workshops, demo lessons, and curriculum orientation sessions.
  • Provide ongoing academic consultation for teachers at all campuses.

E. Academic Projects & System Coordination

  • Collaborate in cross-campus academic initiatives (English competitions, project weeks, reading programs).
  • Work with related departments (T&L, Academic Operations, HR, Training) to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Participate in developing new academic models, pilot programs, and program evaluations.

F. Academic Projects & System Coordination

  • Maintain updated curriculum documentation, materials repository, and version control.
  • Provide regular reports on program quality, teacher support activities, and curriculum progress.
  • Ensure consistency of implementation across all campuses.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Language Teaching, TESOL, ELT, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience working at an English center (required).
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in Academic/Program Departments.
  • Experience in Cambridge exam preparation (Starters – Movers – Flyers; KET/PET preferred) and/or IELTS.
  • Strong skills in designing learning activities, developing teaching materials, building curriculum, and creating assessments and evaluation plans.
  • Systematic thinking, attention to detail, proactiveness, and strong teamwork skills.
